Well, last night I decided to sleep late this morning and check out the weather once I woke up. I did sleep later than usual, but woke up about 5:30 and after checking the weather, I decided to come on...it looked like it there would be a break in the rain til the rough front got here - I figured about 7:30. I got to the barn and the "usual" turkeys came out in the clover. I saw a spike at 7:30, but that's the only deer I've seen (not surprised!). The rough front got here about 7:45 and it got pretty wild for about 10 minutes - raining sideways in "sheets". At this point, I was thinking to myself, "Dang, I'm an IDOT! What was I thinking!?" The turkeys cracked me up - they stood in the wide open about 40 yds. from me and took the rain "like a man"; like statues! The rain has stopped now and it's a slight SW wind. I'm glad I'm here now!! Maybe the deer will move!?

Im not following where the "idiot" part comes in. Wish I had a house with a greenfield on it to sit in....would be there all day on a day like this. There is a fine line between being an idiot, and being a dedicated hunter. A dedicated hunter you are!

I've got a picture of it from the other end of the field (300 yds. away), but the picture is on my computer...I'll have to find it when I come in from hunting
jchan, re-read my first post. I added a little more to it, so it should make more sense now

Good luck I always like to hunt after a good wheather change and it seems like things get a lot more refreshed and active after a hard rain..looks like a nice setup!

I called it a morning about 10:30 - no other movement after the 7 pt. I'm planning on being in a stand early this afternoon

Wear a harness. This wind will certainly tote you off.

i want a picture of this barn you speak of Here's the only picture I have of it. This picture is a fawn I saw in our beans/peas back in early September...You can see the barn in the top right corner - the gap in the roof is the shooting window (we hunt from the loft of the barn - 8' or so off the ground)
