Interesting opinions so far, so here's mine. Dial was headhunting pure and simple. He let 2 other GA players past and decided to take a blindside shot at Murray. Yep Murray should never let his guard down, just like a boxer in a ring.
Does not matter if he led with his head or not, however, Murray head sure snaps back at the same time as the hit occurs and not as a delayed reaction of getting hit by a shoulder first.
Should the SEC suspend Dial for playing football and Murray not protecting himself until the play is over? That's for the league to decide.
Should Dial have gotten hit between the eyes with a flag for a hit away from the play no matter if it was on the quarterback or any other GA? Yes!

Again....... It should have been 15 yards for the helmet to helmet but to say that it was "dirty" and "away from the play" is asinine. Murray was less than 10 yards away and running towards the play. When both men were on the ground they were less than 6 yards apart. Holy hell even Murray said there was nothing wrong with it.
I find it highly disingenuous that the same ones who were on here two years ago defending thug Fairley for spearing Murray in the back with the crown of his helmet 10 seconds after the kid got rid of the ball want to crucify Dial because they smacked the sides of the helmets.
Highly hypocritical guys..... trolling or not.
"Some men are mere hunters; others are turkey hunters."
Who's defending it? Every Bama fan I have seen said it should have been 15 yards. All I heard from you guys regarding the Fairley hit was that Murray shouldn't be such a pussy.
Watch the video above and watch the one In this post. I'm sure you can see the difference.
Y'all keep holding your breath waiting on Dial to be suspended like Fairley was for part of the Iron Bowl.
"Some men are mere hunters; others are turkey hunters."
Who remembers a SINGLE Auburn fan not defending Fairley after that Georgia game. I remember the words "real man football" "pansy/pussy" being thrown around pretty liberally.
"Some men are mere hunters; others are turkey hunters."
I remember it. Barners defended the thug profusely.
Should have been a 15yrd penalty and this would be a non topic today.
Dial will be playing in the NFL soon just like Nick Unfairly is now. The difference between the two could be the 5 to 10 Fairley gets sentenced to at anytime.
If it was anyone other than a QB then no one would be talking about it. A UGA defender went after AJ on the blocked FG but he was smart enough to get out of the way. I remember a whole thread on Bama thug vs Barner thug shots on here. The attempted knee take out by Fairley was just a continuation of the play, the facemask rake on Murray by Fairley was just because their helmets got hung together. They know what they said but are just trying to get a rise out of y'all...and y'all are falling for it. If Alabama deems it something to handle then they will. The SEC didn't suspend dial because then they would have had to suspend this guy for UGA. Murray is a tough player though!!!!!
"I'm not near as critical about how big they are as I once was. Smiles are more important now! We will grow more deer." Jimmy G.
Hogs wife: hey Hog..what are you doing? Hog: just talkin bout that Alabama Georgia game again wife: but didn't both them teams skull drag us up and down the field? Diddy says we ort not worry bout them. Hog: Diddy ain't been right since that Trooper hit him with that limousine when they was 'cruitin cousin Leoz. Hog: Go git me my spit cup
I do remember defending Fairley's rough and tough style of play. BUT, I do not remember anyone defending him on dirty plays or penalties.
Now, aren't you missing the point that you are using this as justification for a Bammer making a dirty play and ALL the Bammers defending it?? The Bama Nation is the ONLY group in the Country that thinks it was not a cheap, dirty hit! There would e no controversy if it wasn't. Hell, it wasn't flagged and would have gone unmentioned if not!!!!

So that makes it ok for you to lie and say "the man caught the ball and was immediately tackled"? Except I spelled immediately right. The way you spelled it might mean something different.
