Found a place in the middle of about 100 acres of pines where someone had been living for a long time. It had a tarp hanging over an army cot about 6' off of the ground between two pine trees. Had a dirt mound built up so they could get in the bed. Clothes Hung under the cot so they would bot get wet. Food, pot, pots, crack pipes, gold chains, sharpening stone, fire ring, porting soil, pans and some more stuff. I was cutting between two hardwood sections to get to a gobbling turkey. I was about 16 at the time and it was in the middle of no where.

Walked up and drove up on several people cracking, found a few pot groves over the years, found a weather balloon, several regular old balloons, a motorcycle tag from the 60's, a .22 buckmark pistol, numerous poachers.

Walked up on a weird spot on one of my clubs about 8 years ago. They had the leaves cleaned out and had a noose hanging up. Had a pile of rocks and some rocks on the ground in some design. I have no clue what it was but I don't wanna walk up on it again.

at my old club there is a burnt out mustang 2 about halfway up the mountain. i didn't see it happen but some members were up there turkey hunting when some dudes (drunk) tried to drive it up a rough logging road up the mountain. it got hung up on a bench, sprung a gas/oil leak and caught fire. the driver and his passenger watched it burn awhile and just walked out. luckily, it was a really wet spring and the fire went out i guess cause it didn't burn the whole place up.

there's a few old stills on that mountain too.

Not hunting, but I found a garbage bag of cocaine once and one of those famous square grouper on fishing trips in Florida.

Close to our place in Blount County there was a ghost town on the mountain. Remnants of houses and a cemetery. It isn't there anymore, it is a sand pit now.

headed to my stand one morning before light and found a flash light on the ground, still burning. This was on my family's farm and no one else was hunting (legally) that morning.

Also found a high school graduation invitation from a school close to the Mississippi line in N. Bama, which is a pretty good stretch from NE Jackson Co. this was after some tornados came through.

I was out on the WMA late one afternoon trying to roost a bird. I was coming out and drove up on a guy who just got done "cracking" his girlfriend. I mean standing outside the truck pulling 'em up and her tryuing to get some clothes on. grin The look on her face was priceless. I just drove on by laughing.

I did see an emu back when they first started raising them. I had no idea they were around. I'm setting in the tree and here he comes a trotting through.

Turned it over to the law but nothing ever came of it to my knowledge. Always think about where them two's body's are every time I wonder past that creek bank.

I found a club members wallet after it had been lost for about a month and rained on. It had his personal info, about $200 cash, and a few pay checks from jobs that he hadn't cashed yet. I was in a treestand and saw it about 50 yards away with my binoculars.

A member of our club was in a well concealed ladder stand at the edge of a greenfield when a small, beat-up pick truck drove into the field. Two young guys jumped out and started making "shake and bake" meth in two liter bottles. The hunter called the Sheriff's office on his cell phone and led a deputy right to the spot. The guys were arrested.

About a mile from a major road I found one of those hobo style packs tied to a hickory stick. The pack had a nice change of clothes and a few toiletry items. The strange thing was a briefcase next to the pack that contained a pencil and a spiral pad with handwritten poems. They were pretty good!

Two cars at the end of an old dirt road with a man and woman going at it. I assume they were married, just not to each other.

Lots of balloons. Guy in our club several (15)years ago found a car with two dead bodies in it. Had hose ran from the tailpipe into the car. They had been there for a while because the car was full and I mean full of blow flies. Appears that they drove in to the property half mile and committed suicide.
