1200 budget for scope. What would you go with. It's going on a tikka 7 mm. If you think the 700 dollar monarch is good enough then say it. What would you go wIth? Zeiss bushnell, nikon, etc......

Zeiss 3-9x40 unless shooting longer distance. Use the other 800$ for a new gun.

Absolutely, no question I'd look around until I found a Swarovski 30mm on sale in that price range. Walter Craigs in Montgomery had some not to long ago for that price.
You can also get the Meopta Meostar 3x12x56 for under a $1000 bucks everyday and it is as good as anything out there for legal light hunting.

I love my leupold Varix III 3.5x10x50mm with Illuminated recticle. Paid $750 for it 2yrs ago. Its super clear and you normally have to make yourself get out of the stand because all you have to do is turn the recticle on and you could almost sit there all night. NOt to mention its a leupold which i will always be partial too.
If your decoy doesnt have holes in it, your not letting him get close enough... J.H.

I love my Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14X50 with turrets. Great scope for the money when I got it. Bought it when they first came out for $579 shipped. Now they're about $900. I can see WAY past legal shooting hours, and with 14X, I can make head shots at 200-yards on the nanny goats.

Trijicon Accupoint 2.5-10x56- Love mine, it draws light really well and the mil-dot green reticle is great in any light condition.

I'd buy a new Meopta Meostar R1 or a used Swaro if I could find one.

i have a leopold for the pasted 22 years mounted on a rem. bolt action .270 . 22 years and never been off the rifle . neither the scope or the gun has been in the shop . 22years is a great track record to me !
been hunting 55 years. a little slower but much wiser . laws are for outlaws not sportsmen. respect the land and the wildlife !

I got the same scope in on a trade but have been considering selling because I'm afraid of accidently moving the turrets while hunting. Has that ever been an issue for you?

Either a Zeiss with the ranging capability or a Meopta. But I would go with a higher magnification than 15x
