So would yall suggest hunting with super sonic rather than sub? Supers not drop as quick?
Yes. Use super’s for deer if we are talking about normal stand at the deer lease or hunting property type hunting.
A good bullet designed for deer hunting will get you a pass through on a normal sized Alabama deer shot in the lungs/heart broadside at less than 100 yards. You will most likely have good bullet expansion and a good blood trail to follow.
Barnes 110 grain Tac tx fb have done well for my daughter. With a suppressor, it’s still fairly quiet and you can hear the bullet hit the deer.
Subs and Supers are definitely NOT the same round fired at a slower speed. Most subs for 300 blackout are going to be close to 200 grains in weight and designed completely different than a bullet designed for deer hunting in super sonic velocity.
Subsonic rounds are generally not going to give you much expansion. There are some designed to expand at the slower velocities, but not all. I would expect minimum blood trails if using subs.
