Looks great
Which pellet grill did you go with.

Been eyeing a Yoder hard but leaning towards a Reqtec at half the price.

That is the Recteq Flagship 1600.

I wasn't even in the realm of Yoder, but the Recteq is solid.
It is all stainless steel except the door and is advertised at 700 degrees.
I have been impressed with it thusfar and the 6 year bumper to bumper warranty is nice

I used to look down on pellet smokers thinking it was cheating in some way but the older I get I definitely see the appeal of throwing a Boston butt or brisket on there before heading to bed and forgetting about it. It sure looks like you are enjoying yours!

I have a lot of respect for the firebox offset folks. That is quite an art.

Pellets are the way I can make bbq and not devote an entire night of lost sleep or day to fire tending.
It's not that I see them as equal because I do not think they are.
It's about being able to make decent bbq on days that I normally would not be able to if it was a stick burner.

Most of your biggest names in the bbq game all have pellet grills in the arsenal that they cook on.

X2.

When I first tried meat from a pellet smoker years ago the smoke flavor tasted artificial. But ive eaten ribs lately off a Traeger that were very good.

I may look into buying one in the near future.

Thanks for the reply cause I’m leaning that direction now.
