Actually; the murder rate in the City of Birmingham is down 50% this year; without new gun control laws.

I sure wish something good would happen...
... I've only lost about $50,000 in the past couple of months. I haven’t looked but still 2-5 years out from retirement depending

Current Statistics (as of late August 2026) Total Homicides: The Birmingham Police Department reported 29 murders through August 24, 2026. Comparison to 2025: This marks a 45.3% decrease from the 53 homicides recorded during the same timeframe in 2025. Broader Context: Following a record high of 153 homicides in 2024, the city saw a drop to 88 total homicides in 2025 and is pacing significantly lower in 2026.

I haven’t looked but still 2-5 years out from retirement depending We're way overvalued. 18 years of record valuation growth minus the short COVID drop. We're due for a big correction. Be ready with dry powder if you're working, or ready to rebalance if you're retired.

Look at nationwide stats during BLM and Covid then compare to before and since Trump. Prosecutions are a deterrent. Drug prosecutions were down and supply was up during covid. Just like timeouts versus corporal punishment. There’s a difference to one’s actions. The dems know and use this to their advantage. There’s a reason the George Soros foundations promoted liberal leftist ideology in the prosecutorial elections of DAs in larger cities and metropolitan areas. Compare Seattle to a similar sized southern city with tough on crime policies The leftist know this brings chaos and allows programs to be funded for them to pilfer. They have the system down pat. Naw skinny it’s gotta be these younger no work ethic generations. It can’t be choosing the lesser of 2 evils for decades because it allowed you to build a life and a family. And now when a person is in their retirement years all of the sudden becoming concerned with the direction of things and becoming dedicated to fixing a problem that they helped create, through allowing the gov to get where it is. But hey now that kids are grown and the stock markets booming let fix it all. Russia, China, Middle East my retirements good let’s fix and all these guys complain are just left wing babies. You need to get a better attitude. I noticed you like to throw slurs at boomers and people that don't agree with you. I had the good fortune of working for 4 companies that shut down. No retirement no insurance out the door. Got hurt with a 50 pound weight limit at 56. Eat up with arthritis . Headed to TOC right now. A man can gripe or he can make the best of it and work.
