More than 4, apparently! I’m hoping to be able to draw in the next few years before the point creep gets too bad on those properties

I drew Portland 1/17 last year as an alternate with 5 points and got bumped up to Hunter.
My wife drew a bunch of Jan gun hunts on Portland, Cedar, and Uchee this year with 6 points

I pulled alternate then hunter on Portland landing for primitive. Now I realized there’s a doe slaughter the week before. Hoping the bucks understand it wasn’t about them.

I had 5 points. Went from not selected to alternate to hunter in the span of 45 minutes. Wife got selected for several hunts last year with 7 points.

Hang in there. It might happen later. Life happens and folks back out for one reason or another. Look on bright side. You are pretty much a shoe-in next year.

Did anyone get Chalk Hill.

Pretty good hunting in there
I’ve hunted it off and on since the late 70’s

You’re in the chips. About as perfect timing wise as you can get.

I went ahead and booked one of the big cabins at Roland cooper state park, looked like one of the closest options and looks like a pretty good place. Also saw they have a really nice deer processing area in the state park now, so that could be handy if the SOA’s don’t have one.

I was at Portland last year and stayed at Roland copper in one of the cabins. Very nice complex and they did a good job on the deer processing area. Less than 10 minutes and you are at the sign in board for Portland. Good luck!

That’s a good time to be there. There’s some good cutovers on that place. It gives up a couple of good ones every year. Hunted it on and off since the 70s. You should hit the rut perfectly

Just declined about 30 hunts between my wife and my dad. Y'all keep an eye on your emails, they might trickle on down to you.

Some people have all the luck! I won’t get to go back for 5 years, but had a blast last year at Cedar creek. Covered up with bucks and even killed a fine one.
