Buddy of mine has one that joker is heavy and like toting a telephone pole around.
I’m sure it shoots sweet but it is just too big long and heavy for what I want in a hunting rifle They're not all heavy. Some are very light.

I have a 6.5prc that I love and I bought a 7prc in a fierce. I have a 4x20x52 VX5HD. I have 3 of those scopes on different rifles. It is my go to.
I a loading it with 180gr bergers. Chrono about 2960fps
My son just bought a Seekins PH3 Havac. He added the same scope as me. He is shooting 155gr terminal ascent and it is shooting quite well.
So many good choices in rifles these days! Such a good time to be a gun buyer. Getting almost a custom gun in an over the counter rifle these days.
Like said before, get what you want. The thing I like the most about my 7prc is that with my B&T can on it, it is such a soft shooting gun! I think it would be a great western cartridge. Tgis is what i wonder about. I usaaly dont worry about recoil. I hunt alot with a 45-70. But i want to shoot this gun alot, and i dont know anything about suppressors. Everyone i ask, tells a different story. Will there be a difference in recoil. On the silencer with a muzzle brake, and the deadair over the barrel. I like the over the barrel. Because its shorter, but i really want to be able to shoot this gun alot. Evertging im reading, says 7prc doesn't have alot of recoil? Just get a 6.5 Creedmoor. Very accurate, low recoiling.

Beatlescomb I think has or had CVA Scout 35 Whelen with a suppressor. He says the suppressor tamed that beast right down. I’m a pretty good size ole boy and my Scout in 35 Whelen rocks me pretty good. If it can tame that then a 7PRC should be a cake walk with a suppressor.

I dont want to shoot a gun without a suppressor on it. Don't much matter what it is. 7prc wouldn't be a bad choice at all but I know guys that have killer multiple elk with the creedmoor. I wouldnt want to tote a heavy gun in mountains and feel the trigger on those sigs. As far as I know they are all still 2 stage triggers and I hate a 2 stage trigger on anything im shooting for accuracy

That combo is a killer; I can tell you I have shot the RXD30 off many different calibers and that can on a 7PRC will shock you how little it kicks. The built-in brake makes a huge difference. You will love it. I have over 20 cans and that one is my favorite.

What make and model would yall suggest in 7prc with the RXD30 on it? I’m thinking about getting one but I dont want it to be 7’ long with the can on it. A reasonably priced one that is accurate and short I guess lol. And threaded. Well i just bought a sig cross, but the gun shop i bought it at had a texas made gun, i forgot the name, but ill check when i pick up can. I alomost swapped on the spot, it was pretty sweet. What is reasonably priced, you get what you pay for , lol

Not trying to poop on your parade, but everyone I know who bought a SIG Cross has complained about excessive recoil.
If the one at your local is a Hill Country Rifles build, don't hesitate. Same if it's an Alamo Precision, or made by Dury's in San Antonio.

If you shoot a .45-70 regularly, a 7prc will be nothing. All suppression systems lessen recoil. I would buy a suppressor depending on what your wants are. Yes, the OTB suppressors are nice because they help with overall length. I will tell you that if you didn’t have a suppressor before, you will be happy with whatever you get. Do your homework. There are a lot of great cans out there.

One more thing. Buy what you like, no one that did their homework ever said they wished they had used a smaller caliber! Use what you want. I hunted almost exclusively with a .300 Weatherby mag and a .450 Marlin for most of my youth. That was for Alabama whitetails. I have never been bothered by recoil or muzzle blast. However, I hear that it really bothers people and can affect their ability to shoot accurately. Someone said earlier that they have a .35 Whelen and I have one and think the recoil is moderate at most. The only rifle I have that will let you know you have been shooting it is my .338 Winchester Magnum. It is old school, not ported or suppressed and after about 5 shots, you know you have been there with it. Most if not all quality rifles these days come with a muzzle blast that assist with recoil and you can unthread it and screw on a can. Recoil resolved.
I just got off the bench from loading some 7prc. There are lots of loading options but also plenty of quality manufactured loads to choose from.

Just shot the cross, almost no recoil. Its a very good feeling rifle. Still dont have can, and haven't sighted in. Just mounted scope, and shot a few to see how it feels. Think im gonna be happy with it, if it groups. Ill let yall know!
