Hmm….
So I had to look up the model I have and it’s the T5NG. It has the Sony sensor which is why the performance is so good, supposedly. I know mine have picked up turkeys at every bit of 100 ft.
Try the high setting and see. Looking at some newer reviews I see complaints of many false triggers. Sounds like something has changed. Think I’ll order a new T5NG from trail cam pro and see how it does. They give 90 days to return it if it doesn’t perform as expected. Sure hope they’ve not “improved” things financially at the cost of performance.
One final thought, all of my cameras (Browning, Bushnell, Gardpro) seem to lose distance in hot weather (90 degrees or more). Harder to detect the thermal difference between air and a warm body is my suspicion. Once temps are 80 and below they function much more reliably. IMHO.
AAHHH!! that must be it - and why they say in the manual that the sensitivity works best below 77deg F - deggum
