I had 4 points going in, not selected for any preference point hunts, but got selected for the random draw antlerless hunt on 11/05 at Cedar Creek. Only trouble is, my dad got selected for an antler less hunt at Portland the same weekend! I’m guessing we’re going to be better off doing the hunt at Portland, but anyone got experience with both that can weigh in? Does one have better on site amenities/camping than the other?
I’d do both! Get to see 2 amazing properties and have a chance to kill 12 does. I think you can kill 3 per person per hunt. Sounds like a helluva cool weekend to me! There are so many deer on those properties one isn’t much better than the other. Neither has amenities. Y’all gonna have to stay at a state park or in Camden maybe. I’d go ahead and book it now. Maybe a VRBO or Air B&B?
