Today we are at another all time high for Diesel. The national average is up nearly 4 cents from yesterday to $6.269. Its good thing we live in Alabama where we are right at $6.00 for the state average. Holy Fruits and Nuts, California is at $8.21!

Looks like more diesel just got knocked off the global market. It's now costing about $2.00 a mile for trucks to be rolling up and down the highways. Diesel is about $1.20 plus the vehicle overhead, maintenance, taxes, tolls, and driver wages.
BREAKING: 🇸🇦🇾🇪 Yemen's Houthis have directly struck the Yasref oil refinery in Yanbu on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast this morning
The refinery is one of the Red Sea's largest diesel exporters with 400,000 barrel per day
Workers have been evacuated.

Workers have been evacuated. Saw recently that Truck driver is the most common job in something like 26ish/50 states. That’s a lot of jobs at risk because of fuel prices. Locally to me I think of the wood mill near me. I know pine prices are in the toilet right now, add in skyrocketing fuel prices and yikes.

Now why is the stock market still so high? Not trying to be sarcastic here--but with higher inflation, interest rates, war...seems like this would be the perfect storm for at least a modest stock market correction.

Each dollar is worth less so it takes more to buy the same item/stock. And for the record mortgages just hit 7% today. Diesel may not be long from hitting $7.

The Fed is looking like they are going to raise rates tomorrow which in theory might bring the stock market down some but that is probably already baked in. That 10yr T-bill is over %5 the highest since 2007 so the Fed may also hold rates but most folks think a rate hike is likely.

For those distraught they haven’t gotten any housing news of late, don’t you worry I’m looking out for you.

So since inflation is here to stay, will the market keep marching upward over the next few years? Less chance of a correction if inflation stays high?

The markets may go in the other direction. It has happened before and it will happen again.

Good news. They are going to stop doing withdrawals from the SPR. Its not because they want to, its because they have to. We're just about at the legal bottom that Congress set. https://energynow.com/2026/07/us-doesnt-plan-to-tap-oil-stockpiles-again-as-iran-war-escalates/

Part of the equation Works both ways: If you had $124,000 in 1963, it would have the equivalent purchasing power of roughly $1,357,435.29 today.

The tall gay man is now saying BESSENT: GAS PRICES ARE LOWER THAN THEY WERE UNDER BIDEN I guess he is not considering Diesel to be gas. I wonder how much his gaslight bill is going to be this month?

I’m convinced after seeing Ted Cruz get heckled this weekend and reading comments on social media that the Dems will control Congress after midterms. The republicans have nobody to blame but themselves It has become a total sh!tshow.

But; you have to take into account the price per sq ft. when people talk about the difference in gross price of the average house. That has nothing to do with income.

To further perpetuate this worn out thread, diesel at the new truck stop on I-85 between Auburn and Montgomery that was $6.49 yesterday is now $6.52. Just doing my part.
