Hell figured I'd ask so I dint have to spend the time figuring it out on my on . I got a 556 ar I need to site in but don't have but a little over 30yrds to do it on right now . Center of scope to center of barrel is 3in . Using 62 gr steel core . For flat shooting calibers, I do the 25yds. Dead on at 25, dead on at 100.
I've tested this over the years, and it works.

What velocity?
You will probably need to be at least an inch low or probably more at 25 yards to be dead on at 100
Berger ballistic calculations show their 69 gr bullet at 2800 fps & 3" sight height will need to be 1.76" low at 25 for a 100 yard zero.
Zero at 25 yards will be over 7" high at 100.

The YouTube gurus keep saying 36 yards is the magic number for a high mount
How close it will be at a hundred idk.

I'd try 3" low , then test @100, fine tune as needed. Won't need much.
