No, shotgun or don't ask, don't tell? August, not during turkey season. That was a really special piece of dirt. Dozens of turkeys came across it every day. At one point, there were 11 mature gobblers that would gang up during the winter, and I have seen over 30 hens and jakes in that green field during deer season. We killed a mature bird every year that we decided to do so, but we never tried to kill more than one or two to preserve the population.
