Long as you don’t stop, when you stop is when they get spooked. Or for me that’s the way it is. Same as walking with dogs, you’ll walk by and they’ll lay up, you stop they get nervous.

If you are mowing hay, coyotes will follow long waiting to catch field mice as they run out.

That was a really special piece of dirt. Dozens of turkeys came across it every day. At one point, there were 11 mature gobblers that would gang up during the winter, and I have seen over 30 hens and jakes in that green field during deer season.

We killed a mature bird every year that we decided to do so, but we never tried to kill more than one or two to preserve the population.
