Small change to the OP. What I really want is a structure with bug netting over it. Not the plastic or poly. I want rain in. And pests out. But won't argue with a little bit of UV protection from the material.
I'm researching all options. I do like how my plants react to natural rainfall verses manually watering. If you keep the bugs out, you’re keeping the pollinators out. Same with a green house. I get it. I'll sort that out as needed. But I can't be there to monitor things like hornworms and they can decimate my garden before I know they are there. Things that really require pollinators I'll plant outside it if needed. But the things that don't require them I want covered to prevent the amount of heartache I had this year.
Character is not developed in moments of temptation and trial. That is when it is intended to be used.
