I was down on a tropical island a couple years ago and one stung the hell out of me. I was limping for a week. Not sure what species it was but it came out of a lawn and stung my foot.
Saw an episode of Expedition X where they were exploring a former leper colony on a Caribbean Island and had to watch out for the scorpions glowing in the trees whose sting could kill you. Screw messing around with that.
