There’s a lot to unpack in the things he says in this video…..but at the end of the day I think what likely happened is that all of the heavy doe killing he did in that high density area changed the amount of nutrition available to the remaining does in the broader area around his property and therefore over the course of a decade he changed the epigenetics…..I think that would be the correct way of saying that……You gotta think that if he’s killing does at that high of a rate then he’s gonna be opening up a lot of holes for the dispersing does around him to move into…..In other words he impacted the density on a far greater area than just his and his neighbors 2000 acres

So in essence I guess you could say that yes he did change the genetics in a wild herd….it just happened in a little different way than what he is alluding to in the video….It sounds like he’s searching for the answer but just not quite pinning down exactly how it occurred

There's a couple caveats to his situation before anyone brings up the idea that everyone could just blast does and this will happen.....

1) His property and the area around him was probably legitimately way over the ideal deer population needed for optimal nutrition for each individual......

2) Being in southern Iowa there is most likely great nutrition available not just on his property but all around him as well to be taken advantage of once he did lower the areas population
