I would love to know when modern tile water management went into practice. When farms went to drying out wet ground and a next notch when folks were able to “manipulate water”’by adding ice eater and pump systems. If you take away water where it has historically been and you flood and keep water open where it use to be dry and/ or frozen then yes over 20+ years you change things. I’ll never be ok with you can’t add bait but you can keep water by mechanical means.
