I have seen more dead ones and killed quite a few over the past couple weeks
The thing Is that we haven’t seen any since we moved here until this month
These things are small and are mostly found on our back porch
Not sure what’s bringing them out or even where they’re coming from

I have always seen them most often this time of the year.

They are fairly common up here at Camp Little Ridge. I keep an eye out when I'm walking around barefoot in the house. When they sting you on the soft white middle part of your foot it hurts pretty bad. About like a yellow jacket.

If you get stung by one I do the same thing I do for a yellow jacket sting...

Cut a potato in half and put the cut side on the sting and hold it there for about 5 minutes. It feels better immediately, but it also seems to minimize the effects hours and days later.

I usally cuss, it does the same thing as the potato! Lol

Chew up a plantain leaf or two and pack on the sting. Works exceptionally well.

They’re very common in parts of AL and quite active in mid summer through fall.

I haven’t seen any at the house in several months then all of a sudden I saw probably a dozen outside last week.

It's hard to believe that they are still rockin after all these years.

Where I worked for the airforce on lake martin damn thing where thick . I was stung over a dozen times there .

Luckily have.never seen any around the house. See them if we go to Gatlinburg

Yep, saw them at BJCC in 1985 I think. They put on one hellofa stage show. I think it may have been Ratt that opened for them.

I get stung often going through 12 hives of bees , spray with WD/40 and pain will go away fast, give it a try it works.

I was down on a tropical island a couple years ago and one stung the hell out of me. I was limping for a week. Not sure what species it was but it came out of a lawn and stung my foot.

Saw an episode of Expedition X where they were exploring a former leper colony on a Caribbean Island and had to watch out for the scorpions glowing in the trees whose sting could kill you. Screw messing around with that.

There was a small colony of the little stinging micro dinosaurs at the back porch on my place at Sweet Home back in the early 90s. I killed several within 10 feet of the back door. The edge of the woods was only 30 feet back and I just attributed it to me being in their territory. Killed a copperhead in a stump hole just a few feet from the porch as well.

You must live somewhere close to the lake. Dry weather like we've had drives them inside buildings seeking moisture. We live about a quarter mile from the lake and deal with them every spring and fall when it's really dry... and sometimes in the summer when it's as dry as it's been. Good thing about these scorpions is that if one stings you, it doesn't hurt very much/long and there's no residual issues.
