We put some Big Head Todd on the stereo for a while and then switched over to listen to a live YouTube concert by The Mavericks. Those boys are good. They are kinda like ZZ Top, Los Lobos and Dwight Yoakam all had a baby together.
Lately my "go to" for back porch unwinding on the creek has been a playlist on Prime called "The Rat Pack Cocktail Party". Maybe I'm just getting old but that music down low with the sound of the creek just puts me in a very happy place. I keep telling my wife I was born a few decades late.
That's us too. We love just the quiet up here on the mountain, but sometimes in the evenings when we have a few adult beverages, it's nice to jam out a little.
Big Head Todd is damn good. Check out their cover of the 70's pop hit by Looking Glass called "Brandi". Best version of that song I have ever heard.
I've always loved The Mavericks. They broke up for a while and the lead singer, who's one of the best lead singers I have ever heard, when on a solo career, but they must be back together now. They are a really big band with a nice horn section.
