We put some Big Head Todd on the stereo for a while and then switched over to listen to a live YouTube concert by The Mavericks. Those boys are good. They are kinda like ZZ Top, Los Lobos and Dwight Yoakam all had a baby together. Lately my "go to" for back porch unwinding on the creek has been a playlist on Prime called "The Rat Pack Cocktail Party". Maybe I'm just getting old but that music down low with the sound of the creek just puts me in a very happy place. I keep telling my wife I was born a few decades late.

Check out their cover of the 70's pop hit by Looking Glass called "Brandi". Best version of that song I have ever heard. I've always loved The Mavericks. They broke up for a while and the lead singer, who's one of the best lead singers I have ever heard, when on a solo career, but they must be back together now. They are a really big band with a nice horn section.

Lead singer of the Mavericks passed away in December 2025.😢
We went to a concert a long time ago that had the Mavericks, Jerry Lee Lewis and Tammy Wynette.
That’s was some concert.
