I remember a situation from Australia where the camels, once considered a pest on the western cattle lands, were found to actually benefit the cattle two ways. First, the camels ate weeds that competed with the grasses. Secondly, the cattle that shared water sources with camels were fatter than those which did not. This was due to the introduction of camel gut bacteria’s which more effectively broke down their forage.

Something else that I think probably makes a big difference that probably gets overlooked is plant diversity......I was watching one of those Greg Judy videos and he was talking about how his sheep were grazing a certain plant that they used to treat parasites or worms.....I forget which it was.......The deer are gonna be no different with using this plant or that plant to meet different health needs.....The less plant diversity that's available, the less of those needs that are likely met
