You’re not in your right mind, you hate yourself, and wake up each day asking God to take you now because your family would be better off without you. I have been able to keep a happy face, put on an act, and never show that I have severe deep depression. My boss had know idea, my co-workers have no idea, the 60+ people I manage have no idea. I have taken medications of all kinds for the past 10 or so years. I went from mild depression to severe deep depression beginning in 2019. Most of the people I know are hard working, hunt/fish, and are Christians. I have heard many of them say over the years that people with depression can just take medications and it will go away, or they say that depression is an excuse for lazy people to get out of work, or they say it must be a sin problem. It makes talking about my depression useless because people will think I’m lazy, or I’m not taking medications, or that I have a hidden sin problem that I’m hiding from everyone. None of those are true. But when depression takes control of your cognition, your memory, your belief in yourself, your passions in life, and your joy you feel helpless, you feel worthless, hopeless, and most of all you feel isolated. Our mental health system for the most part is a joke. I have had to see a therapist as often as 3 times a week and a psychiatrist once every other week when my depression reached a scary level. My wife is extraordinary!! She has never given up on me. She is smart. She has a Ph.D in vision science, so she took on the challenge of researching depression and how to best handle me. She knows how to do peer reviewed research. I hope that you and your family never, ever have to deal with any mental illness. I have watched the Lindsay Clancy trial and can understand how her mental illness could have taken complete control of her mind in the spur of a moment. That’s the scary part about this illness, you cannot just “will it away”. I’m not going to take offense if you don’t believe or support what I’ve said I won’t take it personal, my experience with depression is not up for debate. I am grateful those will support me and maybe can gain some idea of what depression feels like and has done to me. God bless.

I get it. You're spot on. I have bouts with it. But I also know medications won't work. They make it worse more often than not. Mine represents with bouts of extreme apathy. It is inconsistent, but when it strikes, I notice it and usually won't be getting anything constructive done for a few days or weeks. Weird thing is it's not always triggered, those some things do trigger it. But my daughter seems to have a way of knowing when it's happening and is often able to drag me out of it. I dunno. But I wish I had an answer for it. Hope somehow you get some relief from yours.

If she is getting that many pills pushed on her and it’s not getting better, then take the kids somewhere for a while until she gets it sorted. I’ll be damned if I’m going to let my kid(s) be around anyone that is having thoughts of harming them and hearing voices if I know that is happening. And I’ll be damned if the person that takes my kid(s) off this planet breathes another breath of oxygen if I can help it.

If it’s proven she did it, she needs to be removed from society. Period.
If it can’t be proven then they need to take a good long look at the husband.

Yoyr wife does realize that Lindsay confessed to the murders, right?

How does the husband even enter the picture as a suspect? He was gone on errands that Lindsay planned for him, and came home to 3 dead children.

She only confessed to her husband, or so he says. The theory is the husband drugged her went to cvs came backed ,killed the kids and tried to kill her. Then said she confessed. Not saying thats what happened, or that i agree with it. Just saying thats the theory

To reach the McNaughton standard, the defendant must not know what they were doing was wrong or must not be able to appreciate that what they were doing was wrong. Generally, this becomes an Affirmative Defense which means after entering this plea the defense has to show beyond a reasonable doubt (there's that phrase again) that they didn't know or appreciate the wrongfulness of their actions. That is a tough hill to climb which is why it is not a common plea. As pointed out earlier though, in Massachusetts, it is bass ackwards and after entering this plea, the prosecution has to show beyond a reasonable doubt that the person knew what they were doing was wrong. This requires reading the person's mind basically. That is why what they did right afterwards is so important. Did she try to hide it, or deny it or did she go make a ham sandwich and watch Days of our Lives? Because this burden is higher for the prosecution, I think she'll be found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity. Then again, there is no doubt that she did it and I think a jury would have a hard time with the first two words of the Plea, "Not Guilty". I can assure you that the jury is going to want to know if they find her Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity, will she walk free?

I imagine in Mass. they have a lot higher incidence of Insanity Pleas than the other states.

This is my concern- that she will be basically exonerated on account of her insanity. She will wind up in some cushy mental institution and then in 10 years be released. I do not care that she is insane. This would be a total castration of justice and total failure to protect children.
Worse than that is the possibility, which is real, of her being found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity, ordered locked up in a Mental Institution, evaluated for a few days and declared fixed, cured, sane whatever term you like and then the State has no other choice but to set her free to go make more babies.

Even Libertarians would probably agree that in some cases, state ordered sterilization is probably not the worst idea.

She took the drugs. It’s called personal responsibility. I know that’s a tender subject for you liberals but it’s a real thing.

The most concerning thing I’m sent is the multitude of women out there supporting her
It’s as bad as those women gathered around in support of aborting up until the moment of birth
Leftist are winning the game of moral low ground.

I am curious about these cushy mental institutions

From what I gather, mental institutions, especially high end ones, are pretty cushy places. Imagine one of those old folks town home style communities wherein you basically get a little garden home to yourself

I'd hate to be on that jury.

"Why do you ask"?

Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.

Please list these places. I’ve been to Bryce and partlow and few other institutions. Cushy would be the last word used.

I’ll add this, where the criminal mentally ill are held.

This is the place she will be held if found guilty the judge just stated

Bridgewater State Hospital is a secure forensic psychiatric facility for men in southeastern Massachusetts that is currently operated under the state prison system rather than mental health authorities. A "forensic psychiatric hospital" is a medical facility that evaluates and treats people with mental illness who are involved in the criminal justice system

Listening to the judges instructions to the jury, complicated is an understatement.

I do not think that is true. I think they would evaluate here and then turn her loose in a very short amount of time. However long until they deem her "cured"

You’ll have to argue that with the judge. He specifically mentioned Bridgewater as to where she would be going if found guilty

He stated that when he was laying out his instructions this morning to the jury.

Go look up pictures of the Kerrville State hospital where Andrea Yates still lives. It is about on Par with a retirement home based on what I have seen. Far nicer than anyone who killed their kids deserves.

I imagine with all the money being thrown at Lindsay Clancy she is probably going to be able to pick and choose where she wants to end up

They’re selecting jury for sentencing right now for the murder trial of a Sheffield police officer and another fellow prior to.
This guy had killed his father a few years ago just a few blocks from my house. His father was well known so he got a slap on the wrist and deemed a justified shooting.

Martin has kept claiming mental illness in the incident with his lover/roommate and Officer Risner. It’s not as prevalent in the system as many think. It’s often declined unless shown to be very much the case. You can’t just fake real mental illness.

Like I said. Take that up with the judge. He’s in charge of sentencing and that exactly where “he said” she would be sentenced to

I looked it up and Yates ended up there after being transferred from a high security facility more to your liking. She won several appeals so she was transferred. She’s still not free and been in the system for over 20 years.

I recall her case more than this one. She deserves much rise than she got. These years death row means 20-30 years if not longer. That’s not what it was designed for either.
