First Dick's i went into was across the Bay and Walmart had a better selection of firearms, BUT then they opened up Field & Stream and it was nice better selection than Bass pro & Academy, then we all know what happened with Dick's Ceo then they pulled Ars so rurnt that Place smdh.

Just checked Dick's stock , may be on life support , but far from going bust. PE @ 12 and paying nearly 4% dividend . They are all in on Nike and that may have hurt them more than themselves recently .

"Why do you ask"?

Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.

For me it wasn't so much them pulling AR rifles off the shelves.

Their corporate statement that advocated for BS Common Sense Gun restrictions and their financial support for lobbying groups trying to destroy the 2nd Amendment is why I never set foot in their stores again.

But that's not why they're struggling as a company. I'm sure you can easily buy anything they offer online and probably for less. Brick and mortar stores are a tough sell these days for many products.

My wife and daughter go shopping together and spend a lot of money. But they never walk out of the store with anything. They scan the tags in the store, find it online, find a coupon code, and order it for half the store price. Its more of a sport for them than anything.

It’s all relative. The yield before yesterday was 2.7% before yesterday..

I haven’t set foot in academy since they told me I couldn’t buy more than 2 boxes of 5.56 ammo.
That was 15 years ago.

I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.

I haven't stepped foot in one since that happened. I certainly won't buy their stock either.

I was in academy a few months ago looking for the 500 rounds of federal 9mm. Make great reloadable brass

Couldn’t find it where it was so I googled it to get the aisle location. It pops up 119. Which it was 149. So I walk over and find it. Says 139.00. I showed the guy it’s 119. He scans it and pulls up 139. Said try it up front and see. Clerk says that’s a no go and gotta buy online so I left it. Go to the truck pull it up 119. Pay and walk back in to the same clerk and grab my box and leave.
