Dick's women's fashion store stock dropped 30% today currently down 29% . Management says sales are down and they are facing tough times ahead.
They did pretty good business back when they sold firearms.

Go woke, go broke. One day in the future, these big box stores are finally going to realize that what sounds good during a virtue signaling meeting, in a boardroom or office in NYC, doesn't actually resonate with the all the patrons that are visiting their stores across the south and midwest, far far away from their liberal, looney land, corporate office location. Most of their corporate views and positions, are 180 degrees off center from the views and positions of their actual paying customers, and that is a failing position to be in.

I went in one one time. When they asked me for my ID to buy my kids some toy arrows, I put the arrows on the register and told the young lady that I’d never step foot in one again.

I've been wondering for 5 or 6 years now how the hell they pay the rent on those big box stores. I figure Covid cash kept them floating for a little while but they dang sure never have enough cars in the parking lot to keep the lights on.

Lot of brick and mortar retailers having trouble; it's just too easy to buy online. Plenty of options with free shipping and free returns. I went to the Dick's at Patton Creek in Hoover to buy some shoes for the gym couple years ago. Most of development is like a ghost town. The whole development recently sold for maybe 10% of last sale.

Crazy thing about them was the ladder stands they used to sell at Field and Stream were about the best ones you could get. I don’t know why they discontinued them. Since I dislike the store I didnt bother to give them any advice on the subject
