The other day, my Girlfriend and me were out at a place we frequent often. The waitress who knows us asked, y'all never sit next to each other. Always across from each other. I just said, it's easier to talk that way. Don't most couples sit across?

I sit across from my wife if it’s a booth. Next to her if it’s a four top. I only sit side by side if there are other individuals in the party. I do prefer to have eyes on the entrances.

I sit across from my wife if it’s a booth. Next to her if it’s a four top. I only sit side by side if there are other individuals in the party. I do prefer to have eyes on the entrances. Same here. Always try to get a booth, unless with another couple, or people.
