Here's another fun fact. It's my understanding the part of the Florida panhandle west of near Apalachicola was supposed to be Alabama and there was some sort of mix up. What about it Skinny?
What I remember about it was that in 1869 Alabama offered to buy all of West Florida from Apalachicola. West Florida residents voted on it and approved the measure, but idiots in the Alabama legislature got to arguing stupid crap like all politicians do and it never came to fruition. There were other attempts, but that one was the closest to succeeding.
