Here's another fun fact. It's my understanding the part of the Florida panhandle west of near Apalachicola was supposed to be Alabama and there was some sort of mix up. What about it Skinny?
No and Yes and Yes and No. The Florida panhandle was always Spanish Florida until the war settled it and Florida became a state. However folks saw the obvious that it made more sense for it to be part of Alabama. But politics and dipshits got in the way along the way and that never happened. Things went back and forth for a long time over it and there was even an attempt for Alabama to outright purchase the panhandle from Florida after the Civil War, but back then it was seen as a waste of money (dumbasses). Plus, folks up north did not want Alabama to gain more economic power because we did a lot of damage with economic power prior to the Civil War. They had to keep us down.
