From what I understand, farmers are selling beef they wouldn’t normally sell because it’s so high right now. They want to make the money before the bubble pops. So if prices were back to normal, they wouldn’t sell that beef and this would help rebuild the herd.

They don’t need more money to rebuild their herd, they just need to not sell what they would use to rebuild it.

We will never vote our way to a better country because both sides are crooks. There are three sides in this thing. Democrats, republicans, and us.

The guys I’ve talked with that are big are building their herd they don’t need the money right now and are building for the future

No matter what there is a future and they know going long is the only way forward. The smaller operators at the end are selling for record profits. Like I said earlier. The one guy said he finally paid off his herd. I still crack up at that cause business wise he ain’t wrong.

I’d say the same for row croppers. Small operations are probably 3-5000 acres now inputs cost you go gotta be big to make the numbers work. Otherwise you’re just cash flowing if you’re lucky.

I went thru the same thing in my business. The summer of 2010 I realized would jot retire as a pro photographer so I closed up and cut my loses. 23 years as a storefront studio done for. Found other work and just playing now for the most part. I work for my health insurance and that’s about it.

Covid F-ed up everything and that’s a fact

Republican is just the slower death

At 60 I look it at as self preservation for the moment.

I’ve shared a story about photographing lawsuits and the lawyers bickering while I shot pics by the firm that hired me. All sorts of this and that. One location had 4 firms there, 3 piece suits and Italian loafers I know that look well. When we wrapped and every lawyer asked each other how was the wife and kids and then argued over who was paying for lunch at a local high dollar steakhouse.

Politicians are not a lot different than that

I disagree about the row croppers. Even the big ones can’t make money. 100,000 acre outfits are stopping. I just left the delta and discussed this with two guys that farm 25k acres each. This will be on of them’s last summer to farm big. He is changing his business model and shrinking down to 1k acres and building a farmers market.

Well that’s scary that it’s gotten that bad

I know my BIL has lost his butt the last several years but keeps going for now.

I talked with the guys that farmed the lease in arkie in the early days of the duck club. Everything was somewhat new and paid for. Land everything, about 800 acres for rice. Subsidies had left and the two brothers were auctioning off the equipment and renting the land out. Me being curious I asked one of them why????? Said it was a million dollar roll of the dice every year now. No subsidies and insurance really didn’t cover a big hit. He kept the bricks and his transitioned into trucking. Said he knew he could make that work. Brother went to work as a CPA so he was good too.

Not a free market and very volatile.

I had no idea of the cost til I started piddling in it. I have zero cost in it otherwise I’d be playing golf.

Honestly I get al the bitching but it’s not just Trump. It’s the entire system that’s been built. The bubble is close more than likely and this one will hurt worse than 08.

We owe nothing and have money in the bank and have decent paying jobs. It’s gonna hurt but those that owe might get really hurt. But prices have gotten stupid.

My point of contention. It’s not just Trump and be honest about it. I hate narrative driven viewpoints that are lying by not being fully truthful.

It’s not just trump you are right. It’s the government. But trump is the government. I believed he wasn’t for a little while, but he and republicans have had the chance to make real change and they haven’t. They don’t want it anymore than the democrats do.

And I know a lot of people say “Well Kamala would be worse.” That’s a dangerous attitude to have. Eating a crap sandwich with salt and pepper and saying it’s good because someone else offers you a crap sandwich without salt and pepper is stupid.

Maybe so but I’m gonna cling a little longer

The swamp is huge and no one is gonna do anything other than bitch so I figure I might as well join in lol
I’ve admitted to trumps antics. I jmj used to be my friend in here lol. I quit downing Trump last year cause only sounded
Like a progressive liberal. I didn’t like that all.
Trump’s the chance to upset the apple cart and that’s all we have left

I got at least root for that and not throw in the towel q

I assure anyone here I’m not worried about much of anything at all. I’ve reached the age of idontgiveashit except for how much im gonna shoot this weekend and what im gonna cook or eat. Everything else is gonna be whatever

I think pedophiles and the people who protect them should be executed. Do you think that too?

So what should be done with the folks in this administration who are protecting pedophiles?

You have a short memory. Didn't you just say execute them and I agreed?

ok. Just making sure cause that is about the furthest stance from being a libtard that a person can be.
