Two of our very best friends Bill and Joyce came down from the mountain yesterday to stay a while with us at the Beach Bungalow. They are like our brother and sister from another mother. I can't think of two people we are closer to than them.
Bill is an amazing dude... Retired engineer, expert certified Genealogist, Historian, Philosopher, Civil War Reenactor and author of 6 published books. He is also a damn good banjo and guitar player who plays in the hammerclaw style.
Bill saw my Ovation sitting in the living room, picked it up and started serenading the women while Boho was cookin' us up a fine meal of hamburger steak, mashed potatoes and green beans. We swapped the guitar back and forth a few times, with Bill playing John Prine and me playing some of my own songs I've written over the years. We finished up the evening after dinner and drinks, watching the excellent new documentary on Randy Owen produced by Jacksonville State.
It was a damned good time at the Irish's Beach Bungalow last night.
