I don’t want to buy it online or through some “APP”. I want to walk into a sporting goods store with taxidermy on the walls, plunk my Benjamin Franklin and drivers license on the counter and have another outdoor enthusiast sell one and some ammo to me. This after I’ve eyeballed their wall of toys for a few minutes first.

1 more year of it and I can stop buying the regular licenses since I’ll be 65 in ‘27. However, that survey the other day it looks like they are gonna separate turkey licenses from big game licenses. So they’ll still hook me for WMA, Corn, and then Turkeys at some point. Might get the night one once I retire and maybe have the time and inclination.

I hope this upgrade in technology goes better than some of the previous attempts.

I haven't seen anything that says once you reach 65 you still have to pay for a turkey hunting license. Deer and Turkey are both covered under a normal license from what I can see.

Mine was auto renewing - I do nothing - bout time for that to happen.

Yea Cathead - I kind of old school - I much rather go to store - pick up license after handing cash or card!

The checking system or tagging has been real easy on phone though - less than a minute probably

hey bud - mine was too - BUT with the change to this new system, you will have to go back in, re-confirm your info to setup your new profile & on Monday (Aug 24) buy your license & choose Auto-Renew at checkout - then you’ll have auto-renew setup for 2027 & beyond

In the turkey survey they sent out a couple of days ago. There were a couple of questions related to possible future separate Turkey and Deer licenses. It makes me think they’ll make all Turkey hunters get the Turkey license/“permit” even if aged out of standard game license. I’m speculating based on the questions existing in the survey and statements by previous ALDCNR leadership indicating a distaste for the freebies given to aged out freeloaders.

Isn’t it 65 when we don’t have to anymore? You and I are both seeing that light at the end of the tunnel I think

I bought my last one this past year at 64 and it actually says "Lifetime" on it.

On the system this morning trying to buy my 2026-2027 licenses and the system is just spinning....pretty much unresponsive.

What a dumpster fire. And nobody (with the authority to do anything about it) cares

I finally got to the screen where you can select licenses, but the prices are all $0'd out, and when you click on one, you get a "Bad Request" error.

It's like they weren't anticipating anyone buying a license today, despite doing a social media push about the licenses going on sale today

Freaking idiots

Whoever is in charge of game check and the app needs to step out of their office into the hall, they need to scream you’re fired, and anybody that sticks there head out or asks who they’re talking to would the the ones gone.

I’m convinced they couldn’t manage a snow cone stand.
