Gobelki Tepe and the other sites that date to the same time period throw a lot of monkey wrenches into Old Testament scripture lessons. From the thermoluminescence and cross-dated radiocarbon with the really clear stratigraphic dating data I've seen the sites are at their apex around 15,500 years ago. Their formative period probably came about 17,500 which matches similar sites in northern Iran.
