My curiosity is where my local bucks go to “summer.”
I think the older does get territorial in claiming fawning cover and it forces dispersing yearling bucks to take up residence in other areas this time of year.....Those areas become their normal summer home range for the next summer and the next as long as there's food resources there.....They dont require the same type/quantity of cover as a fawn
