I actually had a relative that murdered her two young boys. Grabbed a pistol and shot them. This was so long ago that they probably hadn't made the excuse of post partum depression to justify this horrible crime. She went to jail but unfortunately not for life. Her mother was a good Baptist woman and actually forgave her for her sins, but no one else in the family did.
I can say this having been so close to this situation.
I dont care if she was depressed.
Murder is murder and no one who commits such a crime should ever be allowed to walk free again.
