what the frick is this, She killed her own kids and says she has mental issues, off course she does, she is a monster and should be taken out behind the court house and shot, no she should be strangled like she did her kids and those idiots that are rallying for her defense should also be shot

I’m going to throw myself in the dog fight. Severe depression is real. Having lived through the last 5 years with what is sometimes debilitating severe depression I can see where the irrational behavior comes from. You’re not in your right mind, you hate yourself, and wake up each day asking God to take you now because your family would be better off without you. I have been able to keep a happy face, put on an act, and never show that I have severe deep depression. My boss had know idea, my co-workers have no idea, the 60+ people I manage have no idea. I have taken medications of all kinds for the past 10 or so years. I went from mild depression to severe deep depression beginning in 2019. Most of the people I know are hard working, hunt/fish, and are Christians. I have heard many of them say over the years that people with depression can just take medications and it will go away, or they say that depression is an excuse for lazy people to get out of work, or they say it must be a sin problem. It makes talking about my depression useless because people will think I’m lazy, or I’m not taking medications, or that I have a hidden sin problem that I’m hiding from everyone. None of those are true. But when depression takes control of your cognition, your memory, your belief in yourself, your passions in life, and your joy you feel helpless, you feel worthless, hopeless, and most of all you feel isolated. Our mental health system for the most part is a joke. I have had to see a therapist as often as 3 times a week and a psychiatrist once every other week when my depression reached a scary level. My wife is extraordinary!! She has never given up on me. She is smart. She has a Ph.D in vision science, so she took on the challenge of researching depression and how to best handle me. She knows how to do peer reviewed research. I hope that you and your family never, ever have to deal with any mental illness. I have watched the Lindsay Clancy trial and can understand how her mental illness could have taken complete control of her mind in the spur of a moment. That’s the scary part about this illness, you cannot just “will it away”. I’m not going to take offense if you don’t believe or support what I’ve said I won’t take it personal, my experience with depression is not up for debate. I am grateful those will support me and maybe can gain some idea of what depression feels like and has done to me. God bless.
GO NOLES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I actually had a relative that murdered her two young boys. Grabbed a pistol and shot them. This was so long ago that they probably hadn't made the excuse of post partum depression to justify this horrible crime. She went to jail but unfortunately not for life. Her mother was a good Baptist woman and actually forgave her for her sins, but no one else in the family did.
I can say this having been so close to this situation.
I dont care if she was depressed.
Murder is murder and no one who commits such a crime should ever be allowed to walk free again.

Thanks for posting that Booger. It took a lot of courage. I too have battled with depression and OCD for a good majority of my life. I was able to hide it from everyone also except for my family who spent enough time with me that I couldn’t hide it. It has caused major issues in my marriage at times and my wife has stuck it out with me which I am eternally grateful for. My OCD is mostly not the type you see in the media with the incessant hand washing etc… Mine is the mental kind where you get into thought loops which you just can’t get out of. Of course most of those loops are thoughts that are completely irrational and untrue. Many times I know that but still can’t get out of them. In my early 50’s I was living at our business office for awhile because my depression was so bad I didn’t want to be around my wife or kids. There were times in my past where I had contemplated suicide but never seriously. I just could not do that to my wife and kids. When I was separated from them, living at the office I was also drinking heavily to try and change my brain and the way I felt. Ive never considered myself a alcoholic but I definitely drank heavy at times to try and forget how I felt. Of course when I sobered up all my feelings were still there. All during this time I went to work everyday to support my family. I eventually started thinking how much better off my family would be without me and how much life insurance money they would get if I left this world. I knew the insurance company wouldn’t pay for a suicide so I was trying to figure out how I could make my death look like a accident. That was a new train of thought for me and it scared the crap out if me. For the first rime in my life I sought help and went to a psychiatrist who diagnosed me with Major Depressive Disorder and OCD. I got on meds and for a while they changed my life for the better. Then those meds stopped working and it was bad again until I got on another med that helped immensely. I have been on that one for 5 years now. Good meds are definitely a help but not the whole answer. I had to identify the things that made my symptoms worse. Disappointment is a big one for me among others. There are certain types of music I stay away from, certain types of media I wont watch etc.. My Dad wad Bi Polar, probably my Grandfather also. My Mom has mental illness on her side of the family too. There is definitely a genetic component in our family. A couple of my kids have had depression issues but I have been able to get them help quickly and I can definitely relate my experiences to them and they understand. I never had a thought of harming anyone but myself and I definitely don’t condone what this last did but I can see how when you are so depressed or mental illness is bad that you can absolutely believe a lot of things that arent true. When I look at the list of meds she was on and the attempts she made to get help professionally and from her family I honestly feel sorry for her in that respect. As far as if she is guilty or innocent by reason of insanity i will let the jury decide that. I will say this- if you are having mental health issues- GO GET HELP. There is no shame in it. If you need to talk to someone about it you can PM me or call or text 205-317-8076 and I will be glad to talk to you.

Bulls eye and booger thanks for opening when it’s like and nothing to be ashamed of. Every family has a mental health backstory whether they say so or not.
My dad’s sister died a paranoid schizophrenic that was institutionalized because of it and her fears of government and law enforcement. Literally hunted down a state trooper and pulled a gun. Thank goodness it wasn’t loaded
Sadly there’s a segment of the population that think there’s nothing to it. They are very very wrong.

Postpartum, schmostpartum....YOU DON'T KILL YOUR CHILDREN! What if they show up at your door at 2 AM, park their car in the front yard, drug induced, pound on the front door, and threaten you and your wife (their Mom)? Thankfully no one came through. Nothing happens until someone gets hurt in AL.

The Clancy woman murdered her defenseless children. In some way her mind or moral compass led her to kill her children but not kill her self. That in itself gives me pause. Why did she not commit suicide?

The entire focus of the case and the publicity surrounding it has been Lindsay herself. That is NOT the point. The whole point and end goal of this should be justice for the 3 babies.
We can hash out mental health issues later. That is fine, I am not taking anything away from it. I have plenty of my own struggles. It is very real.
However, those babies dont(didnt) know what "mental health" is. all they saw was their mother strangling them to death. Makes me want to throw up. The children deserve justice

I have ADHD, which comes with its own set of problems. I have learned alot about it in the last year. It explains alot about how I have reacted to things over the years. I have a little OCD too. My struggle now is as I age, it is difficult to make friends, and I don't really have any. I am not married, so now one to go home to. Dating is a minefield. When I was married to my last wife, I definitely was in the "Jesus bring me home" headspace for a while, because she was nuts, which was making me nuts.
I watched my kids mom after the birth of my son behave in ways that made me believe she had post pardum depression. I called her OB, who had her come in, but she snowed the OB. She is a chronically depressed woman, she had children because she wanted someone to love her, and has not taken care of herself at all. She is a very manipulative woman, and is skilled at being a victim. She was not and is not a great parent by any stretch. She and her sister in law believe if you can't deliver a baby naturally, you are less of a woman. Both my sons were emergency C-section deliveries.
The part with this case I can't get over is strangling the kids. That is a very up close and personal way to kill someone. The fact she did it 3 times in a row lowers my compassion level for her.

Wife has been following this. She thinks the husband did it. My better half might be right. I haven’t followed a ton of facts in the case but at what point do you, as the husband, not take action to remove your kids from your spouse if she is having those kinds of thoughts? If she is getting that many pills pushed on her and it’s not getting better, then take the kids somewhere for a while until she gets it sorted. I’ll be damned if I’m going to let my kid(s) be around anyone that is having thoughts of harming them and hearing voices if I know that is happening. And I’ll be damned if the person that takes my kid(s) off this planet breathes another breath of oxygen if I can help it.
If it’s proven she did it, she needs to be removed from society. Period. If it can’t be proven then they need to take a good long look at the husband. Yoyr wife does realize that Lindsay confessed to the murders, right? How does the husband even enter the picture as a suspect? He was gone on errands that Lindsay planned for him, and came home to 3 dead children.

Two things that are stipulated to, or should be anyways, is that 1, she killed her children, and 2, she is/was crazy. Now the legal standard for an Insanity Plea is called the McNaughton Rule after a case from England years ago. To reach the McNaughton standard, the defendant must not know what they were doing was wrong or must not be able to appreciate that what they were doing was wrong. Generally, this becomes an Affirmative Defense which means after entering this plea the defense has to show beyond a reasonable doubt (there's that phrase again) that they didn't know or appreciate the wrongfulness of their actions. That is a tough hill to climb which is why it is not a common plea. As pointed out earlier though, in Massachusetts, it is bass ackwards and after entering this plea, the prosecution has to show beyond a reasonable doubt that the person knew what they were doing was wrong. This requires reading the person's mind basically. That is why what they did right afterwards is so important. Did she try to hide it, or deny it or did she go make a ham sandwich and watch Days of our Lives? Because this burden is higher for the prosecution, I think she'll be found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity. Then again, there is no doubt that she did it and I think a jury would have a hard time with the first two words of the Plea, "Not Guilty". I can assure you that the jury is going to want to know if they find her Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity, will she walk free?
I imagine in Mass. they have a lot higher incidence of Insanity Pleas than the other states.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I imagine in Mass. they have a lot higher incidence of Insanity Pleas than the other states. This is my concern- that she will be basically exonerated on account of her insanity. She will wind up in some cushy mental institution and then in 10 years be released. I do not care that she is insane. This would be a total castration of justice and total failure to protect children.

Her confession might be genuine or she might be talking out of her head. I don’t know and I hope the jury can get the facts to make an informed decision on the verdict. I just don’t jump to conclusions anymore. There’s a lot of evil in this world and it raises my eyebrow that the husband had no intuition that his kids might be in danger of left alone with this lady.
