I am surprised that there has not been a thread created for it. It is big in the news right now.

I mean yeah, I agree. It doesnt really matter if she was in a state of psychosis or whatever, that doesnt clear you from strangling your innocent children.
If this doesn't constitute the death penalty, I am not sure what will.

If this doesn't constitute the death penalty, I am not sure what will. While I agree with your assessment there’s always another side and how things got there. Everyone projects “their” biases into all equations. It’s a rare day if folks stop to think from a differing perspective Just cause “you” see or think a certain way doesn’t mean others agree with you. Matter of fact there’s the likelihood many have totally different perspectives I’ve not followed it and haven’t heard anything from my wife and her opinion. However in FB I’ve seen several day by day plays of what’s happening in court, actual therapist that deal with mental health patients and have for some time. Clancy according to them she is a very troubling case and it seems she was substantially mix medicated. I’m curious as to how many warning signs were missed and where red flag laws are troubling for both sides of an issue. Just saw where she mentioned to a psych she was divorced from reality Overall the trial shows how complex the mental health field is. You’ll never bat 100% I’ll add that another issue is we as a society have half of society that’ll coddle bad behaviors that lead down a more destructive road That doesn’t help

No way she gets convicted. Her attorney is making a great case, government is effing it up hand over fist! It is interesting though, alot of people saying it was the husband!

If she did indeed murder her 3 children, she needs to be permanently removed from society. Either by execution or at the very least by being forever locked in a mental facility if she is legitimately insane as opposed to just being evil (my gut tells me it's the latter)

She basically went to every mental health facility and hospital in Massachusetts over several months, and said she was having evil thoughts and hearing voices. She even checked herself in to a cuple looney bins. All they did was give her brain drugs and let her out. She was severely drugged over a long period of time. Husband even went to several doctors and said drugs were making it worse. Defense att. Making a good case it was health care peoples fault, prosecution basically just saying you shouldnt kill your kids. Its an interesting look at how screwed up the court system is!

I agree with my Church's teaching on the death penalty in which I am opposed to death if there is a less restrictive means to ensure it doesn't happen again. This view is in line with what Jesus gives us in the parable about the wheat and tares in Matthew.

I will have to agree with backwards on this. The list of drugs she was on is amazing. Mental illness is real she needs to be put where she can't hurt anybody else. It is sad and disgusting both. What do yall think about demon possession? Might be an example of it here may not be

Wife has been following this. She thinks the husband did it. My better half might be right. I haven’t followed a ton of facts in the case but at what point do you, as the husband, not take action to remove your kids from your spouse if she is having those kinds of thoughts? If she is getting that many pills pushed on her and it’s not getting better, then take the kids somewhere for a while until she gets it sorted. I’ll be damned if I’m going to let my kid(s) be around anyone that is having thoughts of harming them and hearing voices if I know that is happening. And I’ll be damned if the person that takes my kid(s) off this planet breathes another breath of oxygen if I can help it.
If it’s proven she did it, she needs to be removed from society. Period. If it can’t be proven then they need to take a good long look at the husband.

The key here is that Mass. is different than anywhere else on a Not Guilty by Insanity defense than anywhere else. Everywhere else you first have to say you are guilty and then prove that you were so loony that you didn't know what you were doing was wrong (known as the McNaughton Rule). The Burden of Proof is on the defendant to prove they didn't know what they were doing was wrong. This is a dangerous move for two reasons, first the jury seldom pays attention to anything beyond the admission of guilt which is the start of this defense. Secondly, the Burden of proving you didn't know what you were doing was wrong is a tough hill to climb.
Now, according to Paul Mauro, Mass. is different because they are the only state that with a Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity defense, the Burden of Proof is on the prosecution to prove that the defendant knew what they were doing was wrong. How can you prove that without being a mind reader?
For this reason, I think she will be found Not Guilty by Reason of Insanity. She will then be reevaluated and probably be found OK now and turned loose.
For those that think someone else did it, realize that by using the Not Guilty by reason of Insanity Defense, she is admitting that she did it, but that she was crazy at that time. With that defense, you can't claim it and that someone else did it both.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I been watching it too and at first thought a 22 bullet behind the ear was approximate. Now I don't know I have had several dealings with this kind of thing. The list of drugs was enough to put anyone over the edge.

Post partum psychosis is something that is real. I have seen it with patients at the hospital and with one of my relatives. None were this extreme though.

Supposedly many of the statements she made about her psychosis wet in retrospect. Wasn’t mentioned during sessions with psychs
