How/Why do black berries seem to be the first plants to cover up a clear cut?
- Do Animals spread them better than other plants?
- Do their seed pass thru the digestive system more intact?
- Does the size of the seeds help them to be encapsulated by animal excrement?
- Are they/the seeds more resistant to herbicides?
My place was covered up in hogs when the black berries were ripe. Haven't seen nearly as many since the black berries have gone away.

"Blackberries thrive in loose, sandy loam or loamy soil with good drainage, a pH between 5.5 and 6.5, and a high amount of organic matter. "
