Wow, I gotta tell you that it doesn't mean that your opinions are "truth" just because you proclaim them to be so. And I gotta say that I kinda resent being called "greedy" because I wanted to preserve the system that made Alabama turkey hunting the best in the nation. The emphasis of it was always one based on the belief that wildlife would prosper when the state set seasons and limits to preserve the species, but individual landowners were given the primary responsibility of actually managing their land. Going back to Charles Kelley, he wanted us to have generous seasons and limits so that landowners and leaseholders would be willing to spend the time and money to produce wildlife because this state was going to give them a reasonable opportunity to hunt them. It worked very well and Alabama had huntable turkey populations long before most neighboring states. A 5 bird limit led to far more turkeys than states with a low limit. It's the principles of capitalism vs socialism. Seems to me nearly everything Chuck did was designed to destroy that system and implement one where the State controls everything.
