We have cameras all over the cabin property. It's nice to keep tabs on the place when you're not there.
We also have a main camera at the Beach Bungalow. We only have one entrance so we just have one camera. I can see the entrance deck area, my golf cart, the extra car we leave down here all the time, the parking area in front of the house, etc... I can easily change the detection and warning settings on the app. Plus I can turn it and zoom in remotely. I can even scan the parking lot in front of the house. Cool thing about it is that it's totally solar powered.
We also have cameras all over the community here. Apparently before we bought in there used to be some trouble here in spring break and in peak summer season from time to time. The owners got tired of it and the HOA added a lot of restrictions, limited the number of rental occupants and added a bunch of cameras. It's quiet as a church around here most of the time now. If your renters get out of line the owners will be fined by the HOA. It sounds strict, but we have loved it. We like peace and quiet.
All that said, I'm not for the government surveilling us everywhere. Too much opportunity for misuse and overreach.
I personally decided to put cameras up at our houses and our HOA voted to put them up around our beach community. That's different.
