My wife’s uncle has one above his fireplace mantle. Been there for years. He cut it down when it was really cold and sealed it with some polyurethane spray. I know he’s had it at least 30 years. Probably longer. He got it when the wife and I were dating and we’ve been married 28 years and dated for 5 before that.
