We have a tanning ledge. You don’t have to lengthen the pool or lose space. Just have it built in a “L” shape and add the tanning ledge on the “L” part. That’s what we did. We looked at option but our lot has a pretty steep grade beyond the pad itself and the L would be right up on the patio. I mean like flipping a burger off the grill and into the water close. It’s going to require us to bring in a bunch of dirt in addition to what they dig out to soften the grade and also have enough dirt to support the pool wall. The house sits on a hill with a gorgeous view out the back but the hill is a little issue for the pool design.
