I'm guessing she had other secrets that she didnt want exposed and that if she started dropping names then her indiscretions would also be brought to light. That Hollywood culture of exploiting children just leads to those children growing up to exploit other children. i.e. the Mickey Mouse Club system. Regardless, its a sad situation, she was too young.
