By all means, get her the cartridge she wants. However, a 7-08 or 6.5 Creedmoor will kill them just as good with way less recoil. Folks like to crap on the Creedmoor, but that doesn’t make any sense to me. I killed an elk last season with my Remington Model Seven 7-08 with 140 grain Accubonds traveling 2800 fps. My 6.5 Creedmoor shoots 140 grain Accubonds at 2800 fps, as well. I doubt it wouldn’t have killed that elk just as dead. Lol.
Get the brand rifle she/you likes, but a Tikka t3x lite stainless is hard to beat.
