Does that feeder have a directional output for feeding the fish? If so, does it work good? I’ve been thinking about that setup for my pond.

Yes. We initially had their hopper that was for fish food, but the plastic was paper thin and critters ate through it in no time. Looking at Moultrie's website, they don't even seem to sell that one anymore. We moved it to the tripod set up with a more durable hopper and it does okay. It would be better if we could get it closer to the water as some of the feed doesn't make it into the water. It would do better on a dock. The motor itself and the directional design works ok.
