In case this helps anyone: For those of you who hunt with nice wood stocked rifles, see the Midway flexible gun cover link below. I use this on a wood stocked Ruger African 35 Whelen that I deer hunt with and want to minimize boogering up. It's fairly quiet, easy to remove/install in the field, and you can stuff it into a pack once you remove it. Sure lowers the stress of getting to a stand site in thick brush, climbing in and out of ladder stands, whatever. I don't know if it's really waterproof, put in a drizzle it will keep the rain out of the barrel while on your shoulder and most of the rifle dry. I've grown to enjoy using it, so thought I'd pass along.

For $14 it's pretty cheap insurance.

Had one just like it, worked great in rain or mud. Mine burned in our house fire. Haven't replaced
May now.

Love a good hunting story, love my family and friends. Some people you can't, but acted like do.

Except; they were a PIA to get on and off. And the zippers could scratch your gun. They actually sell pretty good on eBay.

Years ago, when I was a hunting guide, I had a hunter from Michigan that got the edge of his gun chap hung in the action of his rifle when he closed the bolt. Unfortunately for him, he realized it after I dropped him off on the first morning of his 3 day hunt. He sat in the stand with an unloaded gun that morning and missed the afternoon hunt because he wanted a gunsmith to get it out.
