Great day yesterday, weights in the morning, brunch at Duck's Diner and then later in the afternoon played some pool at the rec center and met a new friend, Butch. I just stopped by the rec center to practice pool, because a bunch of my new friends play pool at Tacky Jack's II. I really need to work on my game since I haven't played in 40 years, but Butch walks up and wanted to play. He let me win the first game and went on to kick my butt 4 games in a row.
We got to talking and when he realised I liked cigars and bourbon, he invited Boho and I over to their house to hang out. He said everyday he and his wife sit on the porch and have cocktails and cigars at 3:00. He said, don't bring bourbon or cigars, because he has an extensive collection of both.

I think sometimes I have died and gone to Heaven... 😄

Anyway... On to the food pics.

I sat out some fillets, seasoned them with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and red pepper flakes and wrapped them in bacon to help shape them more than anything. I previously hand cut these from a tenderloin I had. I washed some potatoes, dried them, oiled them down with avocado oil, salted them and tossed them in the air fryer. Boho was on the asparagus. She seasoned them and sauteed them in the skillet with lemon and butter while I tossed the fillets in the stainless skillet with a little oil. Once I had a nice crust on them and they were closing in on 120 degrees, I threw in some butter, chopped garlic and fresh thyme from the garden and spooned that over the steaks to finish them. I cleaned my whole plate...

We settled on the screened porch after dinner and I had a dessert of Evan Williams Bottled in Bond on the rocks. Today was one of those good days...
