The company can is getting a new windshield this morning.

Safellite installer said if I didn’t have a $0 glass deductible it would have been $1,700, wow.

That number was really shocking to me, I would have assumed about half that much.

How many electronic thingys are going through or around that glass? The sideview mirror replacement on my vehicle was $200 because its got built in blinker and warning lights that I dont need cause I learned to drive before 1985.

My windshield replacement was $180. It’s a piece of glass. I suspect the next vehicle I get I won’t be so lucky.

The two 2007 Toyota Tacomas had the most easily damaged windshields of any vehicle that I've ever owned. Every little thing chipped that glass and the replacements were exactly the same.

I got windshields that look like spider webs. Phuck-it. Long as they stop the rain it’s still good.

I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.

I had my windshield changed on my 2024 Silverado. $250 deductible and Safelite came out to replace it and calibrate the sensors. Total bill was $900 to USAA.

The quoted amount is what the Safelite installer said to me.
The fleet company has a $0 glass deductible on it.

In my 2024 several months a rock came off a truck pulling a trailer. Sounded like a baseball hitting the windshield right in front of the windshield. No damage nothing. Last month going down the road and no other vehicle near me. Something hits the passenger side that sounded so lite it could have been a CB penny flipped on it. Chipped I went and paid 60 bucks at a place in Boaz that drilled it out put a filler in. Said prevent any spreading. I bet windshields have become like body metal has a lot thinner.

Wife has had 3 windshields replaced. Owner of windshield place said he has never replaced so many windshields. Said they are thinner and a different angle for aerodynamics. They are expensive

No deductible in Fla if you have full coverage. I had a good windshield company that would come to my shop and do them for my customers. Lots of mark up on glass.

Just had to replace wife’s Forester’s windshield. All the safety sensors aren’t cheap and have to be calibrated. Thank goodness FL has $0 deductible law on windshield.Would have been $1700. Safelite has a scam going with windshield insurance claims
