Well had one today on the new place. I been stuck on 89 for 2 weeks or longer

I can remember helping a best fried get after beavers and nutras in marengo county when we were late teens. He used dynamite on the dams. First and only plunger i ever seen. We use to kill bunch nutras wading thru waste deep water

Gonna be a while before i trap anything. Maybe i try august this year for once - but i hate sweating in a set. Coyotes flock to one area in my road every august - does must birth in that thick area. Seen dogs with fawns in their mouth. Then after 4-5 weeks they go back to normal patrol or seeing about every week

Had a pretty good day today. Finally got enough of the dam tore out on a new place. Caught 2 beavers and set a total of 7 traps

Finally set 6 dps - had fat coons at feeder! Caught 2 pretty good ones - used corn again

Are you using dry corn or canned corn?

I ran the county run yesterday. Covered 140 miles checked 15-16 places that have been problem areas. I did not even see a fresh track. I think I have about killed myself out of a job. They will be back after the young ones spread out. A lot of times I can hear water going over dams after I have pestered them enough. As long as they stay upstream the water doesn't go over the road and I can't go after them without landowner permission. I have another route down through woodville and paint rock valley I will get later this week. They are usually pretty active that way.

Regular Dry deer corn - they like corn - that why they hammer the feeders so hard

And Dgambler - other things may be better but this time of year anything sweet in this heat and aunts are on it where I am at

After using corn for long time - I sometimes have to put something with it - moonshine from trapping sites works really well with corn - sweet aroma - vanilla flav prob do same thing - but right now prob corn only until it cools off some

Went to a house this week that had armadillos caught 2 so far

Hate a dang armadillo

1 ground hog today. The guy next door said he had skunks. I am junk trapping

Finished the county run today. Only fresh sign was a bad sticky mud dam only about 2 miles from my house. After my old butt realized it was too hot to pull on it I remembered I had a little bit of stuff left at the house. When it went off it blowed mud all over me . Merica !!

I caught one last week. Not even trying anymore until it cools off. Snakes don't bother me but horse flys, deer flys, ticks,snapping turtles and the heat make it absolutely miserable
