interesting.

Today, I'm hitting local media in Alabama to see what the public thinks about @alabamapower
enforcing condemnation and eminent domain on Mr Fenn's land. I, like President Trump, believe we can be energy dominant and simultaneously treat land owners with respect. Mr Fenn's plea👇

John Rich is running APCO over the coals on 99.5 right now.

It’s exposing Alabama power doing dirty business and running over landowners with eminent domain, specifically Mr Church in this case.

Alabama power has stonewalled and not dealt in good faith and has made a grave error.

They have a giant PR fiasco on its hands.

They need to be tried in the court of public opinion!

I hate it for the guy.

Serious question though: what makes this case different than any other? A transmission line will have to traverse through hundreds of properties. Is there something especially bad about how they’re treating him?

He's been doing this for victims of imminent domain from the TVA for awhile now. Good on him.

I could come more near getting behind it with Alabama power if it were to power homes and not Data centers. Where I don’t care for it is to build a new Walmart and retail

I'd love to see Trump weigh in on this, call Meemaw, and git-er-done. Fat chance though.

Trump has used eminent domain to get some of his properties built, so I doubt he will say anything.

I was one of the people who tagged him on X about that case.

I personally don't see how Alabama power gets to come decide who loses property just because they want to run electrical wires.

They do it because we let them do it. Increase the cost from money to blood and and that property will be "undesirable to use". Powerful money people and corporations still fall under Murphy's laws of combat and incoming fire maintains the right of way.

This is true and has always been one of my major disagreements with Trump. He's a big proponent of eminent domain.

At some point when personal freedoms are being run over roughshod, a Bundy ranch solution is called for. Unfortunate but true.

Alabama Power is a government sanctioned monopoly. They own our Public Service Commission and we are one of the only few states that does not require a formal rate inquiry process which means we don't know the details of their rates or their proposed rate increases. They propose, the PSC has a show hearing and it gets approved.

HB 475

The legislature gutted the bill and removed the requirement for formal rate hearings. The changes in that bill were window dressing designed by APC.
